Benefits of Chapter Membership

Benefits of a paid Chapter Membership include, but are not limited to:

  • Strengthen your role as a parish leader; enhance your ability to train future leaders

  • Learn basic verger training and education – liturgy, duties, responsibilities

  • Receive copies of the Standard Customary and the Customary for a bishop’s visit

  • Attend two annual Assembly meetings in various locations within our Diocese

  • Opportunity to dialog with our bishops at the meetings to become more informed about the Liturgy and why the Episcopal Church has such rich traditions

  • Interact with other vergers, share new ideas and learn from other vergers

  • Provides the “glue” the cohesiveness of fellow Vergers throughout the Diocese, making the whole greater than the sum of the parts

  • Gain access to liturgical books, pamphlets, articles on the Liturgy

  • Obtain full access to the resources of the Chapter Membership, the VGEC and our own Diocesan Training officer

  • Access to online resources for training and reference

  • Receive our stellar newsletter Rubrics

  • Participate in Annual Council as a tellers and as a verger

  • Eligibility to vote on Chapter business meeting motions and elections

  • All new paid Chapter Members receive a Certificate of Membership suitable for framing. If you have never received the Diocese of Atlanta Verger Chapter Verger patch, let us know--we’ll send you one.

Become a Chapter Member
REDUCED DUES as of May 1, 2019

Chapter Membership dues are $10.00 annually.
Membership is current for one year from date of payment. 
Upon receipt of payment you will receive a Membership Certificate suitable for framing. 

You may join or renew your membership by clicking on the link below.  You will be taken to the Diocese of Atlanta Donation Page where you will be asked “click here for a list of giving options and to make your gift.”  Click on that link to log in.  You may use your e-mail address and password or you may pay as a guest.  When you reach the DONATION FORM, complete the required information blocks, choose Mark Emory Graham Chapter, and key in the amount ($10.00) you wish to pay.

Although members of the chapter are encouraged to join the Vergers' Guild of the Episcopal Church (VGEC) , it is not a requirement for Diocese of Atlanta Verger Chapter membership. Vergers from other dioceses for whom no local VGEC chapter exists are welcome to participate with and join the Diocese of Atlanta Verger Chapter.
